Jamie will meet you where you are. He accepts all clients for who they are and where they are in their stage of life, whether unmotivated or motivated to improve. His goal is to provide a therapeutic environment founded on support and empathy, rather than judgment and criticism. He provides a safe space for sharing whatever it is that ails you.

A licensed professional counselor, he specializes in working with clients, aged 12 and up, who are struggling with depression and anxiety. Jamie wants clients to be comfortable expressing themselves openly so that they are fully able to accept their thoughts, feelings, and self. Accepting one’s self first is most important. Once that is achieved, he will help to facilitate acceptance of others’ thoughts and feelings unconditionally. After full acceptance is reached, Jamie helps clients to mitigate internal and external problems.

Jamie earned his Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2008. He has a variety of field experience including an internship in the psychiatric hospital of the University of Texas. There he worked with psychiatrists to provide care to individuals diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Anxiety. He spent six years helping middle-aged adults and retirees in nursing rehabilitation centers, where he assisted in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and comorbidity. He has also assisted first responders, law enforcement, and school administrators by completing mental health assessments for individuals in crises.

His vast experience in a variety of mental health establishments has taught her that the human experience is indeed unique. There is always room for growth and change with the right support.

True acceptance of self is possible. You can find peace within to flourish, Jamie can help.
