The most important element for positive change in a person’s life through therapy is the therapeutic alliance. This is why Tzvi will work with you to ensure you agree with treatment, goals, and a positive bond can be formed. Tzvi has the utmost respect for all clients who reach out to him for guidance. He understands the courage, perseverance, and vulnerability it takes to begin therapy.
Tzvi, a licensed clinical social worker, takes a kind, nonjudgmental approach so that you are better able to recognize what you need from sessions. He isn’t there to tell you what to do or how to do it, but rather to guide you in figuring that out for yourself. Tzvi will meet you where you are.
He has worked with clients experiencing a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, life transitions, grief/loss, relationship issues, academic stress, and more. He is flexible and curious and will tailor treatment to you. He has experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. He is trauma-informed, EMDR trained, humanistic, and culturally sensitive.
In addition to the private practice setting, he has spent three years working in the acute inpatient psychiatric hospital in Austin. Tzvi received his Bachelor’s of Arts from Lewis & Clark College and his Master’s of Science in Social Work from Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas-Austin.
Tzvi strives to not only understand his clients but also the different systems in which they operate, from home to work/school and beyond. He has a strong commitment to social justice and empowering clients to create positive change in their lives. Whether you are seeking therapy for the first time, or already have some familiarity with therapy, he would be honored to be the clinician to accompany you in this journey towards improved mental well-being and self-understanding.
